The passport card is a new a card that both adults and children can apply for along with the regular passport book. The governnment form that you print out will give you the option of applying for the passport card. The card cost an additional $20 for adults and an additional $10 for children. You can only apply for a passport card when applying for a new adult passport, a new child passport, or a passport renewal for an adult.
