US Citizens Born Overseas
If I was born overseas, how do I need to prove my citizenship?
The US State Department requires that you submit one of the following: 1) Original Consular Report of Birth Abroad, 2) Original Foreign Birth Certificate, translated into English by a certified translator. You can usually find certified translators at local colleges or universities. You can also search online or look in the yellow pages.
